while the pcpc may be a nice alternative if it were cheaper, i dont understand why you would strongly consider it in this case...

from the two reviews linked above from the respectable hardocp guys, the ocz is more efficient across the board (even at higher loads) and the exhaust temperatures were also significantly cooler across the board (with the exception to the torture test where both units were the same temp)

so at the same price and 250 watts more with 4 separate 12v rails, the ocz should be a no brainer...? (ocz comes with 36 month replacement policy where they ship you a unit first)

the ocz rebate is alive again too, until the end of the month.

only real complaint about the ocz is that the rebate period SUCKS AS$ in that it is so short. you pretty much gotta do it as soon as you receive it or you're screwed if you forget. (not all bad though cuz i heard their turnaround is fairly quick)

I'm up in the air with this, I need a new PS and my options are this, for bang for buck with possible logevity issues, and not the best at full load (not like I'm going to be using full load) and very noisy

The other two ones I'm looking at are the TX750 corsair (already have a 620 which rocks on another comp) and the PCPC750 with the slight edge to the TX750

I'd take the BFG-ES 850 but it's lowest price is around 170 and I'm looking for around 100.

the Corsair 750 is a nice unit, i remember they used to make by seasonic (not so sure now). But the nice part about it.. you don't have to deal much about the rebates. I think they only have a $10 MIR and rebate dated 30 days. Price i think is running $109 AR @ newegg, so no extra $ on tax either.

While the Corsair TX750 is a great power supply, they are and always have been a CWT built unit. Some Corsairs are indeed Seasonic builds (HX520, HX620 and VX450), but the rest are CWT builds.

As for the OCZ 1KW ps, an FSP build doesn't exactly inspire supreme confidence, FSP's use of OST caps in the secondary, esp. in light of the Rubycon caps on the primary side, is a baffling choice to say the least, and the exhaust temps HardwareSecrets got in full output is very troubling.....what HardwareSecrets said in conclusion:

At a first sigh creating a 1,000 W power supply using the same standard ATX size seems to be a great idea, but the problem is that power supplies on this range simply don?t fit such small form factor. OCZ opted to use an intricate design using two stacked printed circuit boards and one small 80-mm fan on the rear, leading this product to face serious thermal issues: when pulling the full 1,000 W the temperature of the power supply skyrocketed to 68º C (this is so hot that you can actually burn your fingers by touching it).

The 80-mm fan wasn't capable of correctly dissipating the amount of heat produced by the power supply and also generated a lot of noise, as it was always spinning at its full speed during our tests.

Even though it is cheaper than other 1,000 W power supplies available on the market and it can truly deliver 1,000 W at 50º C we simply can?t recommend this power supply mainly because of its working temperature, since it will overheat your system.

I'd rather spend my money on a known good build like the PCP&C 750 or the Corsair TX750....
