This computer build has been highly unusual for me, partially because it is the first since a C300@450 from 2 years ago. I had problems originally with no POST, and after having a friend almost fry the CPU testing it (without a H/S), I am ready to go. Now the questions:

1. I have repeatably tried the "pencil trick" and have failed to POST each time. For now, I have given up on multiplier adjustments. Maybe I'm a dufus, but I just can't seem to get it. If someone has a site on SPECIFIC instructions, I would highly appreciate it.

2. Trying to overclock with just frequency/voltage adjustment, I am only able to get to 880/1.6V. What I have found that if I raise the voltage, the system becomes MORE unstable! This is contrary to my past knowledge of overclocking. Has anybody found this to be the case?

3. I have been an ABIT fan for over 5 years, and this is my first ASUS board. I find the jumper settings totally confusing, and originally had them reversed because of the color convention of "up" and "down" in the manual. I am currently using the BIOS for setting the frequency/voltage. I bought 256M Kingmax PC150 memory, so I was hoping for more bang than I am currently getting. Do I just have a CPU that is max'd out in teh 800's?

All advice appreciated.
