I have an xp 3200 barton on a NF7s v2 mobo with 2 x 512 Corsair value select pc 3200 sticks, non ecc, unbuffered cas lat of 3, voltage 2.5. (running dual channel). I have been able to overclock some to about 2.3 after that I seem to run into some stability problems. I'm new at OC'ing and am just testing the waters so to speak, but not without reading a lot of stuff about oc'ing on this site, as well as a few others. I do realize the problems that can be encountered if not done correctly. I have tried stepping up voltages on cpu and memory slightly to see if I can maintain stability. I have not messed with the multiplier too much. Can somebody give me some good baseline numbers that I can play with or talk me through some steps? Like I said earlier I'm just trying some things out so I can squeeze as much performance out of my 3200 because right now I don't have the funds to upgrade mobo and cpu. (my next step will be a 64)

Thanks for your patience,

your cpu should be locked (can't change the multiplier)

that means your overclocking depends on your ram

vs should be running at 2.5-3-3

i assume you can get to 210, you need to find out what is your max ram speed

set vcore to 1.75-1.8

and keep raising the fsb and testing in memtest

bump vdimm up to about 2.7

i would expect 2.3-2.4 depending on when your ram craps out

you could sell/trade your 3200 for an xp-m

that would get you to 2.5/2.6 quite easily while keeping your memory at 200

I have an unlocked 3000+ Barton, they are unlocked if the are pre week 39 chips, i was under the impression this was the same with 3200+'s, therefore you may have unlocked chip if it's pre week 39. To find out simply try and change the multiplier and if it works you have an unlocked chip.

I have a very similar setup to yours and all those details are in my sig, including the multiplier and FSB i run at, generally my temps are around 45C idle and 65C load, my vcore is about 1.9 but the board seems to undervolt it to an actual vcore of 1.8 or so, i'm not actually on my main comp. right now so can't check the exact numbers.
