I want to overclock my xp 2100+ tbred b with a gigabyte ga-7vrxp and crucial pc2700 ddr cas 2.5 ram. Can i get good oc'ing results with that setup or do i have to get a nforce2 board with high performance ram?

Hate to break it to you but with that 7VRXP you wont get too high. The chip may be unlocked, and you could try it by changing the jumpers on the motherboard (read the manual). You will be able to get up to at least 150FSB. Much higher and then you are pushing your PCI and AGP bus' too high.

whats the difference in the pci and agp bus between the kt333 based mobo and the nforce2 motherboard besides the nforce2 supporting 8x agp. I'll get a nforce2 mobo if I have to but I dont have the money right now to get high performance ram. Would the ram be a problem or can i just add a heat spreader to the ram.

since i do have a mobo that supports 166mhz fsb and the athlon xp 2100+ is designed to run on a 133mhz bus couldn't I just increase the fsb to 166 as long as I adjust the cpu's core voltage and keep the temp in check. The pci and agp ports wouldn't be a problem because i have a kt333 chipset that supports 166 mhz bus, would it?
