OCing P4 2.4B

Im getting a P4 2.4B. What kind of cooling would you reccomend, and how far you think I can push it? (Plan on getting a granite bay mobo when they come out, with some Samsung DDR)

The cooling that comes with the retail box is very good. I commend Intel in this regard.

Im looking to get about 3GHz, is this possible with this processor, and if not, which one can hit it?

With a 2.4B you'll get 2.7GHz to 3GHz. If you're lucky enough to get a 2.4B with C1 steppings then 2.9GHz to 3.2GHz. The C1 version of the 2.4B is refered to as SL6DV. A table of C1 cpus is given here

Where, if anywhere, can I order a 2.4b and be sure it has C1 steppings?

Hi. I'm buying the processor OEM. Is there anyway to know by looking at the writing on the proc itself that its a C1 proc?

Aldaris, check out the c1 stepping tracker thread...I list all the SL codes that are c1 for the given speeds....If it is retail box it should be listed on the white label on a side of the box...
