Here you go.

Apparently it's stable at 650MHz core and 1000MHz (DDR3 2000) memory. It ran through 3DMark06 without any artifacting. I didn't try to go any higher yet...will try soon.

To overclock I'm using ATITool. It gives much finer control than nTUNE and I can test stability also. The clocks are apprently being set properly because it shows up in nTUNE as the correct clocks. 3DMark06 scores don't go up much. from stock to OCed, I only gained about 5-600 points.

Temps stayed under 70 celcius when overclocked with the fan at 100% and my case opened. With the fan at 100% it is loud so I will not keep it that high. It's idling right now at about 55 celcius with the same conditions as above.

And finally, WOOHOOOOO!!! Hehe had to get that out of my system.:D

Edit 1: Okay at about 670+MHz it locks up so I'll keep it at 650MHz. And as for the memory, it locks up at about 1060MHz so I'll keep it at 1000MHz. Well...that was some quick testing using ATITool. I suggest anyone OCing to use that instead of nTune.

Edit 2: One thing I found was that for 3DMark06, when I tried to force AA and AF through the control panel...it wasn't being set properly. Only when set from within 3dmark did it work.

Edit 3:
All tests run at 1280x1024 (17inch monitor FTW!!!:) )

Fear
All settings maxed...although I don't think soft shadows are working with the AA enabled(this problem has been mentioned before I think).
at stock:
click

OCed to 650/1000:
click

Company of Heroes
All settings maxed (ultra and high settings for everything)
stock:
click

OCed to 650/1000:

One thing I noticed was that any settings set from the control panel were not being used in-game so all settings were set in-game.

Not through software I don't think. ATI X1K cards can do that though...that was very convenient on the X1800XL I had before.

Great. Can you do some game benchmarks to verify that at 650/1000 the GTS meets or beats a GTX at stock?

At least for 3DMark06, it doesn't beat it right? 8800GTX scores 10000+ with a Core2 right?

I can try FEAR and COH but don't have those installed so I'll have to try later.

ANyone know if Dark Messiah has an ingame timedemo? It came with my card but haven't tried it yet.

3DMark isn't really useful since it's very CPU dependant (unless you post GPU-specific stats). Most of those review sites are using X6800s or Kentsfields, so their 3DMark scores will be considerably higher.

Congrats and have fun playing with an awesome card. Probably won't change a thing but have you tried all settings at the OC'ed level? (2D and 3D low power?). Awesome OC on the card btw. Thought the increase in 06 would be more than that. Or maybe hoping since there is no way I'm buying a GTX.

No I only tried OCing the 3D tab...hehe why mess with 2D anyway??:)

Yeah after spending nearly $600CAD(with tax+shipping) for this card...I told myself I'll never do it again. This card will stay with me for a while for sure. My 7900GTO lasted like a month only(I was planning to Step-UP but decided it wasn't worth the hassle...and I could probably sell my 7900GTO on eBay for a decent price). I don't need to stay on top of the curve anyway so I'll never spend that much again.

Like I said in my previous post, don't sweat the 3DMark06 score - a faster CPU/Quadcore would push the score up dramatically.

Anyone know if there is an ingame timedemo for Dark Messiah?? It came with the card and would like to test it out also.

Also, anyone have ANY idea why the control panel settings are not sticking in-game??

Oh and are there any other games people want me to test??

What's so pathetic?? I don't NEED a 20+ inch monitor. And this way I can turn up the IQ and still get playable frames. I won't upgrade my monitor yet.

Indeed, you won't have to upgrade nearly as early as people with 24s and up will. ;)

Exactly, and I plan to keep this card for close to a year so it should be completely fine even with newer games. I was upgrading regularly (4 new vid cards in the last year alone) but decided it's just a waste of money and won't do that again.

What do you stare at all day? A monitor. I'd much rather have a quality monitor that doesn't depreciate anywhere near the rate of a video card. Though I do stuff besides play games so I do have other uses for the real estate. Still, I put a quality monitor over a video card. I have a rule. Don't spend more on a video/sound card than my monitor/speaker/headphones, respectively. The quality of the latter is always so much more important.

Well, I suppose if all the screen real-estate is important then you'd need a large monitor. I usually don't have several programs running at once anyway. I just want to be able to run games at max IQ and get playable frames. If I go up to a 20+inch monitor, I'd need SLI or something to run max IQ and get playable frames.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what resolution were the benchmarks (coh) taken at?

As stated in the original post, they were run at 1280x1024.
