OCing my e6300

k, so I have a e6300, stock cooled.
GA 965p S3
1gb chip of DDR2 800mhz G.Skill ram.
Model F2-6400PHU1-1GBNR

Right now I have done this for ocing

350x7 for 2.45ghz
ram not touched
1.3325 vcore. (1 step up from the default 1.325x)
Temps are at a decent 42c on load.
it's running beautifully, I did several hours of stressing and no problems at all.

But I know this chip can do better. I tried stepping up to 400x7 for 2.8ghz and increased vcore to 1.34375.
The temps were fine(46 or so) but the stress test kept crashing.

Do I need to increase ram speed or add even more vcore?

up the vDimm, add .1 to the FSB and MCH voltage and try again if it's still unstable loosen the Ram timings, oh and if you're not running F6 BIOS update it

I updated my bios and added those voltages. Sp far 2.8ghz seems stable. Thanks man!

If you go to VDimm +0.2 and have decent aftermarket air cooler, you can go to 430 FSB without even increasing the vCore. Although, I have OCZ RAM, not G.Skill so I dunno how well those handle voltage increases. Make sure your timings are at 5-5-5-15....get stable in Prime 95 then go from there if you wanna try to tighten the timings.

You should hit 3.0 ghz if your RAM can hold it.... +0.2 isn't bad on the vDimm.

Well I am at 3.0ghz and it seems stable after several hours of prime95. However the 60c load temps are scaring me. I think I will clock back until I get around to picking up a nice cooling set.
