Ok well i have my 2100+ cpu at 2400+ speeds
12x166

MY rig
2100+ with sk-7 and ys tek adjustable + 5 case fans. Temps at 2400+ speeds are 33-34 under load
512mb pc3000 hyperx 6332

8rda+
9700np

How should i oc this thing? Dont want to blow it out but do want to keep it at its new speed for the rest of the time i use the comp. I dont want to oc and then underdo my oc. I will be using this thing for games and all.

Anyone tell me steps to ocing this thing well. Whats the vdimm and vcore? I know what they are but will i need to increase them from default? Will this hurt my cpu?

get the FSB as high as you can thats STABLE, dont be afraid to bump the vcore as you see fit. once you get the FSB as high as you can, tinker with the multipler to get it as high as you can and run prime to test for stability

Raise your speeds slowly in increments. It is better to raise your FSB than increase multipliers. As you increase your FSB you will need to increase your Vdimm. I thin a Vdimm of up to 2.7, maybe 2.8 should be fine, but I dont know how the HyperX handles increased voltages. If you just increase your multipliers you shouldnt need to increase your Vdimm. As your processor speed increases you will need to increase you Vcore. Try to keep this below 1.75, but the lower the better. Below 1.75 it is unlikely you will damage your processor.

My bro's 2100+ went up to '3000+' @ 2.42GHz... he had a vcore of 1.77 could probably go higher but summer's slowly coming on so he backed it down to 2700+ speeds... :)

your fsb should be as high as it could be that'll allow you to post up and run prime95/sisandra/3dmark2001 etc... w/o errors.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you are... I dunno if this cpu can go any higher.

Running a 2100+ on an Asus a7n8x deluxe (2.0 /w 1004 bios) @ 2.354 ghz (13x180fsb /w 1.775Vcore,41C full load according to asusprobe) with 2x512 pc3200 mushkin promo build (5-2-2-2) @ 180 fsb. Just can't even reach 185 mhz (at lower multipliers) when I'm running the fsb in sync... I read in another that if I run async I could push up the fsb. Anyone try that with this particular ram?
