OCing e5200

Hey guys I know to know a couple of things. I heard the e5200 has fsb wall 350-380.

my board is the p45 ud3p. my understanding is that the board supports up to 400fsb without any bump in the VTT or MCH northbridge. I'm currently stuck at 380 but it will not boot past that even when set to 6x385. Do I need to bump up the VTT and MCH northbridge or is my chip finding its wall.

appreciated any help.

That's probably your limit on the chip. E5200s have notoriously low FSB walls for some reason.

still need one more answer. Does the VTT or MCH need a volt bump from the stock volts at any fsb under 400?

^ thats what I was thinking. my friend faxon has an e5200 to 3.2 on my old 680i lt. Highest multi, just had to up the FSB and vcore a bit. also, your board is much better for OCing, so you should be able to get farther where ours was unstable around 3.4. we used the xigmatech cooler. forget the name, its the popular one with the 120 mm.

12.5 x 380 = 4750!!!

OP, why do you need such high FSBs? You're not trying to hit 5Ghz under LN2, are you?

I'm using 6 to test for max FSB before upping the multiplier. It seems that my chip is max out at 380fsb. can't do further no matter what I bump. thanks you all, but still one answer is unsure.

does 380fsb required a VTT or NBcore bump to keep it stable on the ud3p. I thought is no since its official supports up to 400. I could be wrong.
