OCing an Athlon X2 4800+

Hi everyone. I just joined the forums and wanted to say hi.

Alright now to my problem. I am in an odd position. My 4800+ can go faster but it fails Prime95. Once i hit over 2.56Ghz it gets errors in Prime95 saying that the rounding was .5 instead of .4 or less. Is there anything I can do to get it to atleast 2.6Ghz?

Run 2 instances of Prime 95, one for each core. And see if only one does it.

It might indicate that one of the cores can only really handle 2.56GHz or it could be that Prime95 doesnt always for well on A64s. So just keep going and use something like OCCT and SuperPI 32M to check for stability. Remeber to run two instances one for each core.
