OCing 3200+ and 3400+ w/ 1mb cache

I am curious about overclocking a 3200+ or 3400+(the old model of both that had 1mb L2cache) to 2.4ghz, first of all, weather it is possible on a good mobo, (lots of the tests that were done on these 1mb versions were on old 754 boards that werent that great), and secondly, if gotten up to 2.4ghz and higher, would they perform anywhere near the 3700, because the 3700 on a good board can be INSANE.
