is it possible to oc a 1600+ to reach 200fsb........... which mobos have the 1/6 divider that supports the 200fsb

thanks

why not, i'm running my xp 1600 at 166fsb, i'm sure with multiplyer adjustments and som vdim adjustments it will run at 200, possibly even higher with good ram

i think the only board that currently has 1/6th dividers is the iwill xp333, although i think the kt400 boards should have it.

i'm waiting for a bios update for my epox kt333 so i can have 1/6th dividers and run 200fsb

why can't amd based boards have pci locking like p4 boards?

Check the actual clock chip and its specs. My MSI KT3 Ultra has a clock generator that has the correct dividers for 133, 166 and 200MHz DDR FSB speeds...

not necessarily--the KT400 chipset is a misnomer. they really should call it the KT333a because it is just a revised KT333 without DDR 400 suport. so they may not even have the 1/6th divider... and the XP333 is an ALi chipset which is just about the sh*ttiest chipset on the market.

true but what, but the kt33 is really just a kt266 thats been revised, for ddr333 support, so you are saying your msi board has 1/6 dividers?

If you're going to lower multiplier to 9, why not raise the bus to only 172 instead and keep the 10.5?
9 x 200 = 1800
10.5 x 172 = 1806
That way with a 1/5 divider, you'd get 34.4 PCI speed

200 does seem quite high to hope for on air, unless it's in a very cold room.

so 166 is almost guarnteed......... and 200 is pure luck

also if the fsb is like 180 or 185 does the 1/5 divider help or not

You want ur PCI bus to be outta spec as little as possible. 200 / 4 = 50, which is insanely high, and I doubt anything would work. 200 / 5 = 40...a little risky, you might get away with it if none of your devices are picky...200/6 = Running .33mhz outta spec, not a problem at all. On my old MSI KT3 Ultra ARU...my devices started crapping out at 154 or 155 /4 (about 39mhz PCI bus).

so which boards ahve the 1/6 divider (assuming they already have the 1/5 divider) and when do the first kt400 boards hit the market.
