uhh, i finally got a good balance of speed and stabilty by upping the voltage a bit on my 3000, freq. is at 185 and multiplier is at 12.5, and thne comp runs prime95 for an hour plus with no probs, and still gets 16400 3Dmarks on 2001 SE, but it's showing up on cpuid as a 2800...

what's the deal???

12.5 is the 2800's default multiplier I believe, which is why it shows as a 2800

Your links are broken, put the pic in your Yahoo Briefcase, share publicly, and link to that.

ahhhh, thanks!

does this work???

i upped the voltage to 1.750

is that too high?

idle temps are 41 and full load temps are like 49

Maybe a voltage bump, but not much else. Not a bad OC at all, about what most people are getting on normal air cooling.

i tried 13x200 at 1.775 but prime95 didnt make it 10 seconds

i wish i could hit 2500 dammit!!!!

whats everybody settings if any of yall have done a stable OC to 2500 on a 3000????

wow...you have b@lls of steel (or a fat wallet) to be playing with an expensive chip like that.

what about all the memory percentage settings and stuff? right now i'm running 11,2,2,2T at stock voltage

what do all other settings on the A7N8X deluxe board do, and what should i change??

and i appreciate all the help since i'm a complete newb and have just been trial and erroring it, i screwed up my mem settings one time and had to pull the cmos battery!!!

do you know what revision board you have? rev 1.0x boards didn't have a very good percentage for hitting 200MHz fsb, but the newer rev 2.0 has a very good chance (almost 100%) of running 200MHz.

i'm well below the voltage limit (1.750) and the mobo wont let the comp boot if conditions arent right, if u overclock too much, it will say "system error due to overclockin" and it takes u back to bios setup screen. this is first comp i've ever built myself, my first experience with changing bios settings, and my first OCing experiance!!!

Well then you've had a very good first experience, I presume? Anyways...the motherboard should handle what you're throwing at it so why don't you put more voltage through the CPU?

i've been at 200 several times, but then i dled prime95 and found it wasnt tottaly stable, so i upped the multiplier and lowered core freq. to 185 and it's rock solid now, how can i check the bios revision??? i just got this board from newegg about a week ago and finished up routing wires last night at 3 AM!

i tried 200X13 at 1.775 but it wasnt stable, booted up fine, but prime95 didnt last but for a second, plus, my idle temps are at 42C right now, and i HAVE to use this comp at college for 4 years, so i'm a little worried about processor life

You're going through what I did about 6 months ago when I got my A7N8X Deluxe and a 2600. There should be an option on the first page of the BIOS ignore all errors. Other than that, I'd say you're just about at the chip's speed limit. Not a bad job if I may say so myself! Monday I should be able to help you out a bit more, because I get my RMAd board back from Asus finally. For now install some games and let that sucker fly!

ehhh, i'd like to keep the error thingie on, this comp is plenty fast for me, i'd just like to hit 2.5 ghz to say i did, the voice messages in the bios are pretty cool eh?

Your 3DMark score isn't bad, but I don't really know what a 9700 Pro would score. My 2600@2.3 and a GeForce4 Ti4600 overclocked got 14,000 so yours isn't too shabby :).

BTW: You look like a dork! :p
