Ocean's 12

Hollywood's lack of creativity would really annoy me if I cared about these things. Two weeks ago I was flipping channels and ran into a movie called Insomnia. It was not the one with Al Pacino and Robin Williams, but maybe a three-year old Swedish movie with the exact same story. Amazing they cannot come up with anything new and find good stories to shoot. This summer, just sequels. When is Police Academy IX coming out?

Originality is all well and good, but honestly with Ocean's 11 I didn't mind too much that it was an old plot. They did sufficient changes to make it unique on it's own, and on top of that put in some cute in-jokes and whatnot. For example, watch Rusty (Brad Pitt) whenever there's a scene change. He's almost always eating something and each food he's eating is refference to another movie he's been in. The best one: when he's standing in front of the hotel waiting for Danny Ocean he's eating peanut butter off of a spoon.

I am a little worried about the sequel however. Three heists in England could be cool, but it's hard to get the same coolness factor as you get ripping off three Vegas casinos.

Are you kidding? The original was awful. It had no plot or script to speak of. It was just operating off of the Rat Pack's "coolness", and forty years after the fact, the Rat Pack just isn't that cool.

The Rat Pack isn't cool? Frank took a piss cooler than anything you've ever done in your life.

I liked the first movie. Never expected the a 2nd one, but hopefully it's good.

Sorry, but it's pretty difficult to identify with pop culture forty years before my time. I'll bet the new Ocean's 11 looks like crap to kids forty years from now as well (and then it'll be my turn to yell at them).

Are you talking about the movie or the Rat Pack? You said the "Rat Pack just isnt that cool". The Rat Pack were the true pimps back before the beatles, before elvis...before them all 🙂 I don't identify with them either, but ....

I'm only 27 yrs old, don't get me wrong I wasn't born during that time. But I've seen and heard enough about those guys to realize they were the epitomy of coolness before the word cool was popular. They were the true ladies mans and hung out with gangsters and partied all the time. They lived the life and had fun doing it. This was before all the wiretaps, the tabloids, the photonazi's. They were superstars without the crap. I mean years now people know they were just drunk womanizers, but thats besides the point 😀

ROFL. It's funny all the people saying how it should have never been remade. Had it not been for the remake, no one would have even watched/cared about the original. If they have the same cast and director Ocean's 12 should rock hardcore

11 was ok (the remake) but nothing fantastic. I will be hard pressed to see this in theater.
