So i had my pc running at stock 2500+ speeds, then for th hell of it, like i sometimes do, i brought it up to 3200+ speeds. usually easy. i ran prime95 and found it was unstable unless i bumped the vcore to 1.75...a7n81x-d overvolts to 1.78

i tried to run farcry, and it froze before loading anything on a black screen. then i brought it back down to stock...then it crashed and i heard the harddrives spin down at before even starting farcry. now it freezes on the bios splash screen.

i had switched to a quiet 90mm fan from my screaming 80 mm tornado on an slk800u, and the temp went up like 5 degrees, to like 37..whcih is fine. then after ocing it was like 40-43..then it kept going up...47..then even after i bruoght it back to stock (before it froze), it was still 55.

last time this happened...like a month ago..i just reseated my heatsink & some AS ceramique..and it was fine..till now...

so im thinking something isnt right. i think im gonna RMA etiher my PSU (450w allied), my desktop 2500+, or my a7n8x deluxe. im pretty sure its not the psu, cuz it DOES turn on, and the mobo...im not too sure about..

so i was THINKING of refund RMA'ing the cpu at least to newegg..hopefully getting the restocking fee waived..and then grabbing a mobile barton :)

anyone think i should rma all three..or maybe just one of the other 2? (btw my psu's 12v rail is 12.48 at its max..which makes me weary...so it'd be cool to get a new one of those too).

thanks!

ps..on another note..if i did get a mobile cpu...are the 2400+s, 2500+s, and 2600+s identical? seems like i'd get $65-70 w/o the restocking fee waived...)

All you need to RMA is the motherboard. Get yourself either an Abit NF7-S or a DFI NFII Ultra Infinity, which is supposed to overclock to higher fsb's than the new NF7-S's.
