OC'd E6600 and RAM

Is there any reason to run DDR2 800 RAM if I only OC my E6600 to a 333MHz FSB? I purchased Corsair XMS2 PC2 6400C4 RAM with my new build, and after a month of messing around with OC's, I feel I am happy at a stable 3.0GHz w/o any volt increases.

So is there any reason to keep this RAM? I am thinking about replacing it with DDR2 667 to match my FSB w/ a 1:1 ratio.

It seems it is a waste to keep it and not use the full 800MHZ unless there is some performance gain I am not aware of.

Thanks

You can run the 4:5 divider which would mildly o/c the ram to 416mhz DDR832. You can probably do that with a small voltage bump and not even change the timings

That sounds like a nice option. Right now my timings are 4-4-4-12 and my voltage is +0.3v or 2.1v, which is what the RAM is rated for. I know the Corsair modules don't use the D9 chips anymore, but I would assume it could handle a very small OC with ease?

And do you think it would run OK without a volt increase, seeing as how it is already at +0.3v.

BTW, my mobo is a Gigabyte S3 if that helps anything.

Probably, try it and run memtest for a while and see

Not sure what IC's are in the Corsair, my OCZ uses PROMOS ic's and I'm currently running them DDR850(425fsb 1:1) 4-4-4-15 2.1v
