OC'd 3000: Audigy crashing

Wondering why my friend's Audigy is crashing. His 3000 is running at 235 HT x 9, not really much of an o/c. Any suggestions? PCIe bus is locked at 100, but we don't see an option to affect the PCI bus.

maybe he oversee the obvious...
did he disable the onboard sound?
try other pci slot?
lower HT multiplier, NOT clock multiplier?
etc..etc.....

Also, I used to have Gigabyte ULI chipset, although, it is extremely stable and fast, but PCI/IDE was not locked.

Thanks, Timekeeper. I will pass those suggestions along. I believe the onboard sound was disabled, since this is not a new installation, but it never hurts to check.
