OWS has no leaders, EVERYTHING is done by vote. Literally a whole new way of doing things in a protest situation. (people learned from the mistakes of the 1970's leaders are just a target for the establishment and agent provocateurs, not only this but the old ways of leaders have shown to utterly fail in real life.)
The interesting part is there are whole groups of people now across the US who are already experimenting for awhile now with new forms of Democracy.
Cultural changes like this cannot be undone. The war of ideas is on. The old corrupt system vs. modern Democracy. This is what the youth are working on, since the older folks are a bunch of apathetic losers too busy watching TV for the past 30 years and let the whole place go to shit.
THIS is the real message that is underlying in the whole thing that makes me proud to be an American really.
Gp down and check out how it works sometime. "MIC CHECK!" "MIC CHECK!" (this means you have the floor for example) Everyone repeats what a person says so EVERYONE can hear it (and in case the cops are using sonic anti-protest junk) for example.
It is all quite clever, as they have the experience of 10 years of war with soldiers who have used all kinds of anti-crowd devices in the wars and the ways to defeat them.
This is not your daddys 1960s protest Conservatives, nor is it Egypt (although they have OWS's back too)
Adults have left this generation with no future while sitting on their asses watching tv/radio, gutted the economy with nothing improving Dem or Rep. What exactly do the American public have to lose anymore?
Well, nothing but their chains.
