Have built two systems with AX8, Winchester 3000, Seagate SATA, and WXP Pro SP1/SP2. Both exibit similar issue. Memtest86 is okay. Same with Prime95.

About once every seven START/SHUTDOWN cycle, the system with hang at the Windows shutdown screen. I will see F5 code on the motherboard. After exactly 5 min and 40 sec, the PC will shutdown.

I've clean installed WXP Pro SP1/SP2 with no other drivers/software and BIOS at default. Still see the random shutdown delay. Also changed BIOS to 1.1 from 1.0.

Oh yes...is Abit still doing business in USA? Tried the 510-623-0500 and 510-492-0882 numbers. Said invalid number. Other number rings but no pickup around 1:30 pm PST.

TIA

UPDATE...

Installed the 4 in 1 Hyperion Pro 500A using the default configuration. I'm not sure why the Hyperion Pro 500A package puts a check mark next to the "AGP" driver during installation. The regular Via 4 in 1 does not do this.

After numerous Start/Shutdown cycles, I can say that the F5 code is no longer an issue. I did see one "C0" code that would cause the PC to hang at the shutdown screen, but this is only one error in about 50 attempts. Will repost if the CO code becomes a problem.
