Started a fresh thread rather than continue to bump that scoundrel Don Carnage's. I hope everyone understands.

Ocaholic has received their review sample and has posted pics of the card.

I won't link directly to the pics (there's a lot of them) so they get the hits they deserve for their news post.

Only pics, for now, with more info on the 27th (NDA restrictions).

Edit: Looks like they got yelled at for posting pics other than the official press release.

Review is up now.

Apparently not. All they could do is release photos at this point. I'm hoping it won't be too expensive. It's a 3gig unit, not 6. I can't imagine that they can charge a whole lot for it and not be overpriced compared to the likes of the Sapphire Vapor-X. Although the power stage looks like it's designed for a 7990!. I can see them doing some extreme O/C'ing w/LN2 and breaking records. Pure marketing, I know. It looks to me like this board is built for that kind of benching, though.

Actually it looked like a MarsII to me and I thought it may be a collector edition item :)

LOL @ Asus. They are launching this card on September 27th. 7970 launched Dec 22, 2011. It really took them 9 months to design this card?

I am guessing this is made purely for LN2 overclocking / 3DMark11 crowd.

Gotta say...looks nice. Obviously this is an extremely limited run product like all prior matrix products have been.

What's comparable to this, 680 Classified? At least as far as super custom beast cards, I guess. Wonder what pricing will be, its pretty late for a $600 AMD card, custom Matrix or not. The card looks awesome though, and the new GPU Tweak software will control VRM frequency and load line calibration, which is kinda cool.

Any word on price and when it will be for sale. I could be the first sucker to try it since I don't have a damn card yet!!

I gotta get this in order to get my HD3D going. Hopefully it wont take a month after announcement to hit the shelves, just like Devil 13 did... Any word on pricing?

As the owner of 2 Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X's, I have to say that this card looks almost identical, just with red detailing instead!

Any word on the specs?

I think 490 is alright, well maybe. They have the regular matrix and also the platinum one. I'm guessing the platinum will be more.

Review is up now. I just want to post one pic. :)

Unfortunately they didn't O/C it in the review. :damnit:

If that power stage has anything to say about it, it should O/C like crazy. Stock specs 1100MHz/1650MHz (6600MHz effective)
