i recently purchased an nvidia geforce 7600 gs agp 512mb brand new from ebay (joy). while it works great in this older machine, i would like to push it a bit more. upon reading a bit on the net, i have seen reference to a couple of different programs to OC it. one was just a reg entry, coolbits. after entering it into the registry, the next time i rebooted my pc froze up and that was that. i had to go into safemode and do a system restore (because i don't know how to undo a reg entry). the second program i tried rivatuner with identical results. i had changed no settings, but after reboot it froze. this time instead of system restore, i reinstalled the latest drivers for the card and all is well.
does anyone have any idea what is causing this? and could someone suggest a decent appy for OCing my card?
