Hi guys, im here to just get a few things sorted. firstly i have a 3200+ clocked at 2.5 atm and im running it at 1.6 vcore (seems high compared to what u guys are on with your procs at 2.6 with only a 1.55 vcore and such.
Anyway, I'm running the proccessor with a XP90 and so far all my temps have been great. at 2.4 with 1.575 OR 1.45 vcore my temps at idle are 32 and load is never above 44 (p95 heat) and in CS:S never goes above 40. i noticed some artifacts when i dropped my vcore back to 1.45 when i was at 2.4ghz so decided to bump the vcore to 1.6 and then set my HT to 250.
I just ran SuperPi 1m and took me 35 seconds with the slightly higher 2.5 - but as soon as i ran prime it failed. im wondering if a higher vcore would resolve this, or is my vcore already too high? Is a high vcore alright as long as the temps are alright? or is it bad no matter what? my Mobo is a Asus A8v Deluxe. also could people tell me more about the vcore and what effect it has on the cpu at different levels, other than heat generated?
