OC = Slower Performance?

When I recently upgraded my P3-500 to a thunderbird 1.33ghz, the difference was amazing. games ran smooth, higher scores in benchmarks, and seti@home only took 8 hours to do one piece of data! however, it seems that after i oc'ed my proc to 1.46ghz, everything began to slow down. when i was running 3dmark2001 before overclocking, i got a score of 2426. after overclocking, i ran it again and got 1608. same thing with seti@home. before overclocking, it took 8-10 hours to do one piece of data, after overclocking, it took 30-34 hours. whats going on here?

i been thinkin about goin win2k... but ive heard some bad things about issues it has with games. but since im getting a cable modem soon, i think ill make the transition...

upgrading to win2k might help. Don't worry about games. Most of the games out there run fine or u could just get the compatability update

if you overclocked by way of fsb then you have to remember that all of your pci/agp is out of spec that includes your hard drive. one of them might be having problems running out of spec, depending on your motherboard you should try overclocking by way of multiplier adjustment.

just an idea for ya 🙂

does anyone know a good/quick hard drive that can handle high PCI speeds?
I know the 60GXP are the fastest at the moment, but beleive that can't go too high.
