OC Ram?

My computer (in my sig) is sufferring from a flaw with the motherboard. The ram runs at 333 instead of 400, and I was told that I could OC so that it would run at 400 instead of 333.

I've read through quite a few threads on how to OC, but all seem far too broad for my specific setup/issue.

Any help or reading material for me to look over?

All you really need to do is go in to the bios, and change the memory settings. You basicly just need to change the memory divider back to 1:1.

I'll restart and see if that's all the fix was. I thought I actually had to change quite a bit of stuff around...

I just looked and didn't see anything at all regarding a memory divider, nor something that listed at 1:1 or 1:2 or anything similar.

look for an option to change it to 200, this should be the option to set mem at 1:1 in the BIOS

It's usualy under the advanced chipset features section in the bios, where you can set memory timings and such. Might also say DDR400, 333 etc. Could be under a frequency/voltage control section in the bios as well. Should be in the manual somewhere.

i think it should be located in the Cell Menu/Mem Timings. It should then be the first option, which you can change from 100/133/166/200 (you might have some added dividers depending on the BIOS used), you will then have the individual mem timing settings below. Im pretty sure it will be similar to my BIOS from what i have read on this mobo. Although you should just check the manual for sure or just have a play around.

Where is it showing you that it's running at 333mhz??

I run "Corsair ValueSelect CAS2.5 (2x512) X 2" which according to that chart runs standard at 333. I just have a strong feeling it is running slower than it should be.

I'm having the same problem with some RAM. I'm not even trying to OC it (yet).

I've a DFI LANPARTY UT SLI-DR MB and OCZ CAS2.5 elite memory. I've checked the bios and the clock speed is set to 200 but the BIOS boot screen is claiming that the memory is running at 333Mhz. Why? The model on the memory is OCZ400512ELDC-K (CAS CL 2-3-2-6 @ 400). Dual channel and spec'd for 400Mhz. I can't figure out why I can't get the BIOS to get with the program.

Funny thing on the BIOS RAM settings is that they're all generally set to "auto" and the BIOS diagnostics is nicely reporting CL 2.
