Hypertransport is the bus that connects the processor to devices, such as the HD and GPU, and is independent of the memory bus.
It runs at a multiple of the LDT bus (which is 200MHz at stock), resulting in a 1000MHz HTT bus using a 5X multiplier for S939 systems.
Hypertransport speeds aren't that important, and there seems to be no performance improvement in running it at speeds higher than 400MHz.
If you are overclocking, you may need to lower the Hypertransport multiplier to prevent it from limiting your OC.
