I have a X2 3800+ and I can get it dual prime stable at 2.4ghz stock (1.35v) or 2.5ghz @ 1.40v. My mobo doesn't go higher than 250 fsb or 1.4v vcore. So is 100mhz worth 0.05v increase? That's 25% OC vs 20% OC.

You will be very hard pressed to notice that 100mhz in "real world" applications.

Leave the voltage alone.

You'll really not notice the difference running 2.5Ghz, except the temps will be noticeably higher because of the voltage.

Also, if I could suggest giving something a go:

C n Q. People bitch and moan about using it ith overclocking = death. It doesn't. If you're using the stock multiplier/voltage and just overclocking the FSB, then it can't do anything untoward. If you put in 1.4v, you probably couldn't use CnQ and benefit from some truly chilly temperatures.

Congratulations on the OC though

yeah that's kind of what I figured. well it was fun while it lasted :)

I tried CnQ, but kept getting BSOD while playing video with ffdshow. Since that's a major application for my PC, that's a no go.
