I have it running at 174fsb right now with RAM at 2225, and stock voltage on an Asus a7n8x-dlx. My brother has the same setup, but using pc3200 RAM, and he could do anywhere from 194-200fsb w/o a problem. I'm just not sure how high this RAM will go, and was wondering what (if its possible) it would take to get my FSB to 190+.

Quite a bit more vdimm (ram voltage) more than likely. Personally, I would start out by raising my vdimm to either 2.8 or 2.85v, with the processor and ram running synchronously, and raising my vcore (processor voltage) to about 1.75v, and see if both will go all the way to 200fsb. If they won't, I would then try relaxing the ram's timings to 2.5-3-3-11, same voltages, and try again. I'm almost positive that the A7N8X does not have pci/agp locks, it only has dividers. That means you would need to jump all the way to 200fsb.:(

You can manually set the AGP frequency, but not lock the PCI fsb :| I think i'd be ok with slightly underclocking my PCI, the only PCI device I have is my SB Live! which I know is fine OC'ed a few fsb in the pci slot. Ok, thanks for the suggestions :)

One thing I noticed switching from my xp1500+ to this 2600 is that my cpu temps in general have dropped 4-5C, which makes me :)

No, the IDE bus runs at the same speed as the pci bus, always, with all motherboards, so you are risking corrupting all of your hard-drive's data by running the pci bus more than about 5mhz overclocked. You should have spent the money for a board with a pci lock, if you weren't willing to make the jump all the way to 200fsb. The way I hear, with that board, it's pretty much 166-170 or 175, or go all the way to 200fsb.

Yeah, I realized that when I tried the jump up to 197 and the first time I tried booting it gave me a ntoskernel error saying it was corrupted. Dropped it back to 175 and it was fine again :( I'm just gonna wait to get faster ram, i dont feel like ruining the stuff I got :)
