i've never done any overclocking, except for my video card.. so i have a question

does a P4 (im thinking about a 1.8a) need any kind of unlocking like the Athlon XP in order to overclock it? if so, what is it? and is it as hard as unlocking an XP!? thanks in advance!
 
No unlocking necessary. All you need to do is adjust the FSB. For higher overclocks you can do a voltage mod.
 
Depending on what mobo you have, you probably won't even need to do any voltage mods. What mobo and RAM are you planning on using?
