System specs

NEO2 Platinum 1.4bios
FX-55
1GB Corsair 3200XLPT (TCCD) 2.5-3-3-6
ATI X800 Pro
Antec NeoPower 480W
Watercooling FX-55 and X800

I'm having some problems figuring out whats wrong...

1) At 11x273 with vcore=1.71V, mem @ 2.5-3-3-8 with any Voltage my computer randomly reboots when playing games or sandra benchs (mainly the memtest)

2) At 10x280 with vcore=1.65V, mem @ 2.5-3-3-8 with 2.7V I have no problems at all.

3) At 10x300 with vcore=1.65-1.69V, mem @ 2.5-3-3-6 with 2.7V using 5:4 divider I have no problems.

1a) Using setup from #1 but with mem timings 3-3-3-8 still gives me problems.

2a) Setup #2 but with mem timings 2.5-3-3-6 gives me no problems either.

I am at a loss as to why I can't run 11x273 stable. Setup #2 shows that I can handle at least 280Mhz mem while setup #3 shows that my cpu can handle at least 3Ghz. Yet I can't run 11x273=Ghz.
****************************************************************************************

So can anyone explain the above?

If I run at 11x273Mhz I just brake 8000 in Sandra memtest with bandwidth efficiency around 90-91%
If I run at my current settings of 10x300 with 5:4 mem divider I get about 7400 but with a efficiency of 93%.

What would be a better a setting to run at?

There is no 5:4 divider with the neo2....It is closer to 6:5....

so with system 1 I take it you are using 1:1 which meand 546ddr, right???

yet systems 2 with higher fsb and probably still using 1:1 which would be 560ddr is fine?? Difference vcore is 1.71...

Have you tried running 11x273 with a lower vcore??

what I am getting at is this sounds and looks like a power issue...please list all specs under load at each of those settings....It may the combinations of the higher vdimm and higher vcore finally takes it over the edge

set #3 basically show me that it isn't the cpu or the northbridge...A 6:5 divier at 300 is going to produce more like 500ddr so that doesn't prove much about memory and vdimm cause it is considerably lower then the others...

I should point out that with config #2, even when using 1.71 vcore and 2.85 vdimm, I still don't have any problems but I will retest to make sure.

Anyways full system specs:
NEO2
FX-55
1GB corsair 3200XLPT
ATI X800 Pro
SB Audigy2 Plat
WD 74GB raptor
seagate 160GB
NEC 3500 dvd burner

3 80mm case fans
2 Cold Cathode lights.

I thought perhaps it was my power since my vcore is always bouncing around .01-.05V, plus it says my 12V rail is at 12.73 and my 3.3 is at 3.04.

Well in test 2 the NB chipset is working less, the fsb is less, and the overall speed is less by 200mhz...That may be the reason it doesn't trip it....

I actually need more vcore running 2640 8x330 with 166divider cas 2.5,3,3,7 then I need with 9x294 with 166 divider cas 2.5,3,3,7...The fsb raising sopmetimes requires more juice....

Also what is the power supply??

Slight jumpiong is not a big issue...MY enermax only shows a .07v swing from idel to load but doesn't move a hair when loading....

Hmm that 3.3v is low...check it versus other monitoring apps to make sure it is not an anamoly...

I have a Antec Neopower 480w, however I think the problem might have been my video card as now it wont work. At bootup it keeps saying I didnt plug in the power cable when I did. Iv tried it in two differnet computers now with the same result.

You don't have to manually set AGP to 67mhz to ensure a working AGP/PCI lock for this board, right?

Also, the Msi has alot more dividers for memory then the ones shown in BIOS ;)

I knew I would open up your curiosity, but no one else.... lol

Ok, go to my site and download this software ...A64Tweaker

You will open the guts of the A64 cpu and memory settings, so please be very carefull while you play with the numbers.

Memory divider is on the down right side.

IF you need some advices or help on how to change some stuff, PM me :D
