Hard to say...I have my 9800 Pro at 444/780 but I am using the VGA Silencer Rev. 3...you could get less you could get more...no two are the same...

444 is pretty good i can get mine to 412/ i forget with the worst heatsink/fan ever created...upgrading to watercooling very soon

use a prog called ati tool... you click a button and it finds the max oc itself

ATITool said my max core was 413 and max mem was over 400 so I'm just running it at XT speeds, 412/365 cuz I don't think a higher memory speed really helps a lot with this card. It's a MSI RX9800 that is ID'd by the drivers as a 9800XT and it has a nice cooler on it.

check to see if you have an r360 core. if its a fairly new card, odds are that you do. if it is, reflash the bios and it should give you slightly better performance per clock cycle and maybe a higher oc.

Hard to say. There are, IIRC, three kinds of memory you can have - samsung (which I think usually OCs the best, hynix and oops, can't remember the third. Different results for each type of memory.

As for the core, you may even have the XT core if your card is new.

But all OCing is a crap shoot, so you'll just have to see what you can get.

I use the Rage 3D tweak proggie for OCing my card.

The RAM chips that don't OC well are the Infineon chips. My 9800NP has got them, and the memory can only be OC'ed to 330 (660) on it, which is slightly below the Pro values. My core can do 410 or more, though.

If you've got a card with the Infineon chips, I wouldn't recommend doing the BIOS flash, unless you're SURE the card can do XT speeds. Otherwise, there's a good chance you could mess it up.

My Sapphire does 420/365 with the stock cooling. ATI Tool says the core has a max of 415 but I've had no problem gaming at 420.

EDIT: I use Omega Drivers so therefore I use RadLinker to do my OC's (comes in the Omega bundle). I set up icons for each of my games so that it OC's during the game only and not while in 2d mode. (Some other utilities will switch depending on 2d/3d as well.)

I've been using the Omega drivers and Radlinker since I got my 9800NP last November, and I didn't know you could do that. That's pretty handy.

ATITool has that functionality built in. It is able to detect when you're entering a 3D application, and when it does it uses the profile that you specified for 3D applications, then reverts back to the 2D profile when you exit the game.

Yes it does... but it didn't seem to work well for me. With Radlinker you set the OC settings on the properties of the icon itself (Select Create Custom Settings first, then afterward you will aways have custom enabled by default when you open the properties of icon.) The only problem with radlinker is I seemed to have to set up the icon to open the game exe directly, instead of the launcher/menu that a lot of games use. (you know, you run the icon and you get a "run the game", "update the game", "blah blah blah" menu before actually launching the game exe).

The other nice thing about Radlinker is you can set AA and AF differently for different games. I've found certain OpenGL games like Knights of the Old Republic where the in-game menu settings are incompatible with certain versions of ATI's drivers. For example, if I turned on AF with the KoTOR graphics menu it would mess up text within the game. Using Radlinker to turn on AF for the kotor exe and then shutting off AF within the game fixed my problems.
