For about a year now i have had a e5200 running at 3.6 ghz on a ep-45 ds3l mobo. No problems running at these speeds until today.

Computer will no longer load with any sort of oc. I raised my fsb 1 mhz increasing the stock speed from 2.5 to 2512 and it wouldn't load windows. At stock i can load windows fine and play games/run benches.

Any ideas what is going on?

May be a power issue. Not that the PSU is damaged but it may not be able to support the load it once could.

I don't think its a power issue. As mentioned before i was able to play games with everything at stock. I even had the graphics card oced to what i normally have it at.

I also tried increasing voltage and it went up the same in cpu-z. I tried changing the fsb down 1 and it worked, but increasing it by 1 makes it not work at all.

An update on what i have tried since then.

I have tried going to the newest bios and going back down. Also taking out the cmos battery. I have even reformated one of my hard drives to test if it was a software problem.

OCing reduces the life of components, so maybe the board itself just can't handle an OC anymore?

Edit: Probably don't have an extra motherboard laying around, but what about another CPU to test a basic OC with? That might tell you if it's the CPU or motherboard.
