Oc ing my barton +2500 crashes my system please help

I tried ocing my xp +2500 and it crashed everytime I ran 3dmark 2001 330. First I tries upping the FSB the computer booted fine a my system reported the incease cpu spead using asus pc probe, 3d mark started fine but them in the lobby test the system crahed. I tried upping the voltage to 1.7 but this didn't help. I reset the fsb to 166 and then tried upping the multiplier to 12.5, and again the same happened but this time it crashed during the secong jeep level.

my mobo is an asus A7v8x-x and my ram is crucial pc2700 and im running xp.

Am I doing something wrong, I havent tried any games yet with the ocing.
