hey people, im hoping you guys can help me. i recently got a 2100 from NewEgg, and my friend and i have been trying to get it to overclock to about 2800 or greater speeds. but with no luck.

the setup is this:
AMD 2100
AIUHB 0302, brownie chip
slk-800 + YS tech variable 80mm fan (the temps are great even at full load 34/35 C)
8k5a2+ mobo
samsung 2700 ram

right now its running at 1.75v giving me 2177 (actually runing prime95 right now)
im wondering how far i can push the chip? my friend told me to it should be ok to run it about 115% of org. voltage without much risk, but even that would put in the speed range that i want. would taking it to 1.90 be too great of a risk? any input would be useful. thanks.

running it at 1.9V would be no problem.. it's jus that wiht that sort of voltage, your HSF combo won't be enough to keep the temps very cool on the prcoessor... for kicks and giggles.... i ran my 2100+ at 1.9V @ 2500 mhz... it got WAAAAY too hot... i have the sam hs as you do...

tha 0302 should be pretty good... that's what i have as well.. brownie...

good luck!

i wouldn't go above 1.85V for Athlon XP's

Don't do 1.9v. Running at 1.95v for two weeks, then at 1.9v for another 2 weeks made me wind up with a dead 2400+

thanks guys i took it up 1.85v. but i only got 2263 out of it. i guess im going to have to live with it. i dont think i got a great chip, just an average chip. no 2900+ speeds for me. :p

btw i was able to take it up to 2377 ( a little over 2900+) , but i had to give it 2.1v. even at that speed the temps were only 44/45 at full load (10+ hours of prime95), not too bad with air cooling.

Jeebus! Are you loco 2.1v?!?!?!? How long did you run it that high? Anymore then a day and I'm guessing you would've ended up with a dead processor.

Your friend is correct my son. You are not really my son, but anyway, overclocking to a too high voltage is extremely dangerous. One time I poured slurpee into my system because it wasn't stable at around 57 mhz. Anyway, you should be happy with what you got right now. I know I am, i can play Doom at a rate of 15 fps! Cheers mate!
