You deal with it and settle for the overclock you can get... or buy a new motherboard 😀

Usually highest performance is achieved by highest fsb. Highest overclock is usually by multiplier. But I would recommend a good balance of multiplier and fsb (but more toward the fsb).
For fsb - you need:
good mobo
good ram
lower multiplier if you need to
agp/pci lock
voltage settings of course
