I am in the market for a barton chip so I decided to try my first overclock with my xp1900 chip since I did not mind too much if I fried it. I closed the L1 bridges, bumped the multiplier to 12.5, increased the fsb, and voila... an xp2000 running at about 1750 Mhz. I know it's not much but it was my first attempt. Where is my question you might ask.

I was wondering if the procedure was pretty much the same with the barton chip. Do you close the L1 bridge and is there anything else I should know.

Thanks all. I got all my advice for my first overclock from this forum from other posts.

I dont think there is any difference beyond the fact that the Barton has a larger die area (a result of more cache) so you may need to cool better. Go for it! ;)
