I have been following the method of finding cpu speed and ram speed seperately then consolidate. Right now I stuck at finding cpu speed at very early stage.

Here's my rig:

AMD X2 4400+ with SI-120 and panaflo
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D BIOS 6.23-3
ENERMAX Noisetaker 485W
1G OCZ Plat Rev 2. PC3200 (2x512) 2-2-2-5, 2.7V
Win XP Pro SP2

Here's my BIOS setting:

I lowered LDT/FSB Frequency Ratio to x3. Keep other settings (such as. CPU multiplier at x11) at stock so memory is out of equation.

LDT : 1.3v
Chipset: 1.7v
CPU: 1.5v (1.45*101%)

I raised HTT from 200 to 210, it passed Prime 32M.
I raised HTT to 215, it failed after 7 minutes.

Load CPU temp is 43C.

My question is that with ram out of equation can HTT can be raised to 250 with air cooling? And what should I do next? Should I continue to raise Vcore? or something else

p.s. I also posted this in another forum just in case you ran into it. :p

Your memory is not out of the equation. LDT frequency ratio doesn't matter with memory, and neither does CPU multiplier. Memory speed is simply the FSB speed x memory multiplier. Right now you are at 1:1 - so 215 fsb = 215mhz memory speed (ddr 430). That is what is holding you back probably.

Go into the DRAM timings section of the BIOS- can't remember the name of the section- it's the top menu inside of Genie BIOS. Anyway, you want to set the memory at 5:6 or lower multiplier.

or max memory=166 I think thats the problem. (not sure either what bios says for that, same as 5:6 divider)

Yeah, I just found the problem. I didn't lower my RAM. lol

Okay, I just changed it from 200 to 100, 230 HTT passed, trying 245 now.

thats low. try 166, not 100, you want the highest dram speed you can get. If you get high enought then go down to 133, etc... But at 240, your divider at 166 should be fine.

My highest is 250 at 100 (very close to 2.8 gig), can't go any higher. What should I do? Should I now play with RAM settings such as Tref, Twtr..blah...
