I dont know that much about OC but on my p4p800 I can OC like 5, 10, 20 and 30 percent. Do I have to worry about tearing anything up by OC this way or do I need to change other things?

Is that automatic OC feature? Like the board does it for you?

If so don't use that..

First, what type of memory do you have?

If you have some PC 3200 or even 3500 run that FSB up as high as you can on the 1:1 ratio ( which it's currently at)

So since you are running a 200 mhz fsb (200*4) 800mhz...

So pump that up to say 210 if it's stable keep going, when you hit the wall there you want to up your Vdimm(2.8v) and Vcore to no more that 1.65v...

IF you can't go higher on the 1:1 ratio switch to the 5:4... That way you can run a 250 FSB while only pushing the memory @ 200mhz...

:D

Hope that helps.

Keep and eye on temps..

Ouch, time for a ram replacement...

Unless that ram can run @ 400mhz (currently 333mhz) then you are underclocking your CPU...

If you can go grab a stick or two of some PC3500.. That will allow for ample overclocking..

I want some 3200 but that is high

I hear ya,

Well, you can download CPU-Z here...

Your ram is only capable of 166 mhz tops.. ( Unless of course it has some extra head room )

I hear ya with the PC 3200, but if you are doing it to overclock then that or some 3500 would be in your best interest..

Zam, you can also run a 5:4 divider @ like 200mhz and that should still keep your memory in spec also..

My Memory Frequency is 133.3 MHz
FSB:DRAM 3:2

what does all of this mean?

I wonder how much I could sell my pc2700 for

You can probably get a good 60 or so depending on the maker of the chips...

Hyper X 2700 goes for like $98 now, ( damn i bought my 2 sticks of PC 3200 Hyper X for $100 each ) :p

So may-b $ 70...

I can not find clock speed but my core speed is 2398.0MHz

So I might can get 60 for it? If so I can sell that and I have 80 more I can spend

What was your overall clock speed?

You can go into the BIOS, i think you would know how but if not, Hit Delete when you reboot ( first screen avaible..)

Change that Divider to 5:4 and try and change your FSB -> 200mhz...

EDIT: Ok, well your running @ 2.4ghz.. Now you just want a little more...

If you want, you can run a 250 FSB on the 3:2 divider which should still leave your memory in spec...

:D

It depends, you can still get a small overclock on this ram... May-b you want to save the money for sometihng else... But if you have hopes of hitting 3ghz your going to need better ram..

:p

I just checked on Newegg and they have some Kingston Value Ram ( not that good for overclocking ) @ $86...

You can definitely get $70 for yours.

let me go OC

Sorry If those words where confusing

But now with it overclocked to 30 percent on that auto thing I get

Core Speed 3124.1 MHz
FSB 260.3
Bus Speed 1041.3

Is that any good?

Thats ok, I havnt heard of too many 2.4c that cant do that clock speed. I bet you could go further but you'd have to do it manually.

You think I could do it manually with pc2700???

If so how could I do it?

Now run Prime95 ( Search Google ) Run the torture test, if it's stable for even 4hours or so you should be ok..

If it fails you may need some extra voltage along with the added Vdimm ( 2.8v)

I got that number under FSB DrAM

will that overheat it?

That's what your trying to do, keep an eye on temps, but it will throttle down if it gets too hot..

It will lock up or restart if you pushed too far.

Try it.

You dont need to replace you ram right away but you should think about upgrading.

I currently run my 2.4C @ 3ghz with 2 X 512 PC2700 & it works just fine.

On mem benches I bench just as fast as PC3200 at 200 because I run my FSB at 250 & ram at 166mhz.

Just turn off that AI OC feature go to manual set youre RAM to 266 & your fsb to 250 & you're good to go.

for those that dont beleive that i bench as good as pc3200 @ 200 here's a screenshot for you.

There are alot of people that are higher than that. Me, I'm at 275FSB 1:1

:D

Lucky you with the dividers..
