I just got an Athlon 1ghz CPU. It is pointless to try to overclock this correct, I heard you won't get much, is this true?

Depends on what you mean by pointless. If you mean that you won't notice any difference in normal use, you're right, it's pointless. But if you are going to use that system for demanding applications like SETI or RC5, then any extra speed you can get will be useful. Most good Socket A motherboards support up to a 12.5x multiplier, and you may also be able to get a little more out of the FSB, so it's possible that you could get up to 1.3Ghz with good enough cooling..

I OC'd my 1ghz to 1.260 stable! I have OC'd and posted at 1.30Ghz but it locks up after loading windows. I think i need more voltage. I did the voltage mod to my KT7-Raid (2.06v) but i think i need more.
