Obtain and Releasing IP

Computer is not "releasing ip address and obtaining a new one", my internet connection stops and i have to go into Control Panel>Network Connections, and then Local Connection and right click repair and it releases and obtain the new one from the modem, i'm wondering if there is a way to fix this or what? Cause this is getting very annoying.

I just ran a scan with TrendMicro and WORM_VB.AS, could this be the problem?

I suppose a worm could be the problem. But dunno.

As long as your IP is valid, DHCP addresses typically last for several days before they expire and have to have an address renewed.

Lots of other things could cause this though.

it shouldnt have to release the IP at all... The DHCP client (your computer) should ask to renew your IP to the DHCP Server (the router) half-way through your lease (so if the lease is 1 day then it asks after 12 hrs). If time runs out on your lease then something is up with your router... But as OdiN said... lots of other things could cause this problem
