family has just started gaming on the internet and have noticed (specially in halo) that you don't have to have a direct hit to drop your apponent. While on the other hand I have watched a person (who is carrying the flag take 3 direct hits with a cannon (very close range) and keep right on going. What is the deal? Is the playing field equal or is it possible to modify the game. Very frustrating when you see this happen.
Any feedback on this issue would help.

thanks

It is my observation that any online game has problems with delay. Therefore you have to learn to "lag shoot". Basically aim slightly ahead of where you think the target is going to be a split second from now.

That was stated in my initial post, but I am glad to see that you have the ability to comprehend (tommorrow we will work on sight words and main ideas). Hopefully we can get responses that are productive rather than repetitive.

If you have that many problems with lag, just switch to another server. Various servers, depending on their quality and the # of people playing, will have varying lags. I haven't played HALO online but I've played a million others and it's usually easy to find a smooth server. I'm not sure if the original poster is talking about lag. He seems to be saying he doesn't understand why he can hit someone several times and not kill them. Most of these games have hit boxes on the models so that hitting someone's body in different places does different amounts of damage (so a headshot is better than a leg-shot). I have no idea if HALO has shields, or whatever, that could be it, too. Cheating is always the first answer you'll get, but I think that happens far less than people think.

i know what their inferring and it isn't lag. But didn't want to argue the point with them. This is noninterupted play where a hit is made and an initial reaction by the opponent is noted but he continues on...i have experinced lag and this is far from it.

anyway, i found out what i need ed to know. now i will probably be just like all the others
