How well will my card ( X1800 XL ) run Oblivion? At what setting's and res also. If anyone is using this card with this game...please reply. Im thinking about picking it up this evening but I want at least decent performance. Ive looked for benches for this card but cannot find them anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. System is in sig.....

your x1800xl will definitely handle oblivion perfectly. I would guess that it can handle very well at very high settings on 1280x1024 res :) (with the perks of AA/AF)

is your 3000+ venice/overclocked? that might be more of a bottleneck than your graphics card...

Actually my cpu is a Winchester core...not the venice. The only speed thus far I pushed it was 2.2. Havent tried any further.

Given any thought to overclocking that X1800XL? Put a decent 3rd part cooler on it and you ought to be able to get close to XT speeds.

i agree with bull dog. I've heard the X1800XLs OC pretty well. Should be able to get the core close to X1800XT speeds, the memory might be a bit lower cause i think they use cheaper modules than on the XT to reduce cost. As for the CPU, that 3000+ should be able to go beyond 2.2GHz. My old winnie did 2.55GHz on 1.45V. I think that's mostly typical for winchesters, but I'm not entirely sure. I don't think I've ever heard of one that can't do at least 2.4GHz though, so you should have some OCing room. The vcore should be fine up to 1.5V or so, so feel free to play around with that and see if it helps at all.

Yes Oblivion will run fine. I have a lot of texture mods, IQ tweaks, and run at 1280x1024 with HDR but no AA and I consistently stay above 25fps even outside but my X1800XL is clocked at 675 on the core and 600 on the memory.

Overclock it slightly. I was able to get the card to 550 core and 600 mem with no voltage adjustment on stock cooling.

You got 675 on the core but only 600 on the memory? I've gotten my memory up to 720 but my core doesn't go much beyond 620 for 24/7 stability. I've never actually pushed my memory much higher. You using after market cooling?

Nurr mind, you have water cooling.

Well, I have overclocked the card....but the max was 549 on the core...then it would reset itself. Never tried oc'ing the memory ( Samsung 1.4ns ). I used ATi Tool to do this. Now my cpu has a multiplier of 9.....and of course im using Corsair VS so is that a problem? Ive heard value memory didnt like to oc much. Oh, I was thinking of the VF900 for the cooling on the card. Man I need a better case with better air flow.....

You should be able to run it on Ultra settings with no problem. My X1800XT can handle it very smoothly...I think you would have no problems either!
