Hi all im running the system in my sig.

I have 6.4 cat drivers with CCC and the chuck patch as well as ATI tool installed (can CCC and ati tool be installed together?).

first off for some reason ati tool when doing OSD doesnt show my gpu and mem clocks going above 2d performance when in the game....yet they are working because if I run the system monitor filtering on the vid clocks and then exit the game it shows they did go up to 650 mhz and 1500 mhz respectively.

Anyways I am getting horrible results with this game. On average of 15 fps outside, according to ati tool OSD, and sometimes lower.

my settings are:
HDR
4x AA
4xHQAF
AI standard
Mip detail standard
Vsync on
Adaptive AA performance
tripple buffering

I have the three LOD mods installed as well.

my ini has they changes:
---
uGridsToLoad=7

---
uInterior Cell Buffer=10
uExterior Cell Buffer=120

---
bUseThreadedBlood=1
bUseThreadedMorpher=1

---
iPreloadSizeLimit=104857600

---
bUseThreadedTempEffects=1
bUseThreadedParticleSystem=1

---
fGamma=0.8720

---
bShadowsOnGrass=1

bAllow30Shaders=1

---
bUseWaterReflectionsMisc=1
bUseWaterReflectionsStatics=1
bUseWaterReflectionsTrees=1
bUseWaterReflectionsActors=1

---
uNumDepthGrids=1

---
bBackgroundPathing=1

---
iNumHavokThreads=5

---
fDlgFocus=3.5000

---
bForceFullLOD=1

---
bBackgroundLoadLipFiles=1
bLoadBackgroundFaceGen=1

---
iMinGrassSize=120
fGrassEndDistance=7164.0000
fGrassStartFadeDistance=6164.0000
bGrassPointLighting=1

---
iThreads=20
iOpenMPLevel=20

Im running at 1920x1200 though it doesnt make a real big difference at lower resolutions. Shadow filtering is on low, self shadow is off.

I noticed also that at AA turned to 2x and AF on 2x Im getting about the same fps. I just dont get this....is this normal or shouldn't I be getting better fps?

try running without the ini tweak first to see if your card is working right

another thing you can try is to disable vsync

Turn off AAA. It's a gigantic performance drain when outside, because there are so many trees and grass.

You have a faster system than me, but im getting better performance than that (at the same resolution).
Mkae a copy of your tweaked INI, and start with a fresh one.

Max everything out in game (Except grass shadows and self shadows), follow the multithreading tweaks from tweakguides.com, and use 2XAA and 16XAF.

I noticed you have Ugrids to load set to 7? Try the default value of 5, and of course apply the LOD mods. Im managing at least 20-25 fps outside with this setup.

Adaptive AA is a massive performance drain, turn it off and your frame rate should almost double.

But those framerates, given your settings, seem normal, I have a X1900XT card.

Turn adaptive AA off.

uExterior Cell Buffer=120 to 100, as this will only increase your load times so high.
I find 85 works best.

Instead of ugrids 7, try the default 5.
You shouldnt notice much difefrence at all as long as you have Shaja's landscape re-tuexture mod installed. Inner and outer areas of Tamriel.

I also found leaving all the threaded options default helped my frame rate.

Turn shadows on grass off, this is an enourmous frame rate killer, and doesnt improve visuals that much considering how much it affects performance
Leave tree Canopy shadows on though.

bForceFullLOD=1 to 0. At 1920 x 1200 I didnt notice any difference in detail of plantation up close, but I did gain an extra 2-3fps.

If you turn the grass distance about halfway, it should give you a noticeable boost in fps, without degrading the IQ much.

thanks all for the great suggestions I will give those a try when I get home from work. I also forgot to mention I have flip stack queue (or whatever its called) set to 2. I have a few questions though, anyone know whats up with my OSD for ati tray tools and it still showing 2d clock in the game?
