I will try to get some more screens.

I am so pleased with this X1900XTX that I wish I had the DFI ATI board and I would buy two of them... the lack of a hit it takes on AA and the way it stays steady with little drop in FPS is amazing.

Anyway, it's been said before I know, but Oblivion at the settings listed is utterly outrageous. If you play this game and are debating between GTX and XTX I would say is a strong reason to go XTX.

Anyway, I've had this for a week now, and here are my general impressions. My previous card, BFG 7800GTX is what I am comparing to.

Performance:

I've tested it on 3 games so far, the ones I play most:

BF2 - Even with higher quality settings and HQ AF, I get double (literally) the FPS that I had with the GTX. FPS hover at an avg of about 110, and rarely drop below 90, and often pass 130+ on the ground w/ gamelock.fps 200 tweak.

HL2 Ep 1:

Nearly double FPS, closing in on 100fps rather than the 60 w/ GTX

Oblivion:

Faster even with HDR+AA than GTX w/ HDR or AA alone. HQ AF as well. During forest fight scenes GTX often drops to 10fps (I've been maxing out settings) but with X1900XTX it sits around 25fps and only drops to about 21 in fight scenes

Image quality:

Better, better, better. AA may be a little better on the GTX perhaps but I'd need a side to side to know,

PICTURE is much, much sharper on the XTX, both in 2D and 3D. < That difference is a dealbreaker for the 7 series for me as I was kicking around the idea of going SLI given I have the board. AF is of course noticeabley superior on XTX

OCing:

I am borrowing this one, soon to buy my own and so I haven't pushed it far. Easily does 690/800 w/ CCC. ATI Tool has been enormously problematic for me with both Cat 6.3 and 6.5s. Others are having similar issues. (freezes when clock speeds change, even if they are to low speeds, resets clocks mid game, etc, I had to stop using it.)

If I can get the one I order to 700-740/800-840 I will be a happy, happy man

Voltage adjustment via software greatly appreciated

Drivers:

Well... not a huge fan of ATI drivers, a little buggy but not terrible, bloated... miss nvidia simplicity

Heat:

Heat is not bad. The fan does a great job of getting rid of the heat and my ambients havent increased at all which is important to me becuase I didnt spend a bunch of time on air cooling to have it ruined by a fubared dual slot that dumps heat into the case.

Yes, the fan can be quite annoying at higher speeds but is drowned out by gameplay and isnt terribly problematic.

Overall, I give the card a: 9/10

What resolution?
I'm assuming this is not at 1600x1200 or above?

FYI if you use game.lockfps 0 it completely turns off the lock instead of using 200 and setting the lock at 200.
