Hi all... 2 questions.

First of all, if you kill someone and take their things is that considered stealing like it would be if you walked in their house and took the items? Or are things you get off someone you killed not considered stolen. And I mean people you attack and kill, not people you're defending yourself from. We're talking murder here.

Secondly, lets say I have stolen goods... And I need to clear my name up with the city. Is there a place I can stash the goods so I can go get arrested, and come back for the goods later?

Thanks... Cool game but little details like this can get tricky!

It's only stealing if your mouse icon turns red when you mouse over them. It doesn't matter if you murdered them or not. If the icon isn't red, then it's not stealing.

You can stash your goods pretty much anywhere temporarily. If you want to permanently store them, it'd be best to buy a house in the city. Imperial City has a cheap one for 2000 gold.

Considering I only have about 200 gold at any one time... That may be kinda hard.

Which leads me to another question... When you play do you just go through the quests or do you explore, fight random beings, and collect items/gold?

I took my time and explored. I spent a lot of time talking to everyone in town, wandering through the wilderness to discover new locations, etc. While you're out in the wild, you'll see undiscovered sites appear as white icons in your compass. Discovered sites will be brownish.

yea. great game. Basically, any item that you see in your inventory that has a RED HAND print on it means it's stolen, and if you talk to any guard you will get arrested for it. So either a) don't steal, or b) don't talk to guards.

c) If the guards come looking for you, DROP YOUR SH1T!
Anything in your inventory with the little red flag is a stolen item, (nice little improvement from Elder Scrolls 3), so get rid of it.

When they arrest you, you only get charged and prosocuted for the goods you had on your possesion. That means a much smaller fine or jail sentence.

Of course, you still have to go back and grab those goodies and sell them without getting caught. At least it gives you another chance.

Best way to play :)

Work through the main story line long enough that oblivion gates start springing up. After that, take your time. Nice treasure in the planes of Oblivion btw.
