with the graphics it has there are bound to be some hot chicks.

This game does sound interesting - it was partly the total open endedness of Elder Scrolls that kept me away. The butt ugly people in the game didn't help either.

But I've played Icewind Dale I & II, Baldurs Gate I & II and Neverwinter Nights + the 2 major expansion packs. I'm currently addicted to my 1st MMORPG (RoseOnline) but I am curious to see how Oblivion works out. I'm also waiting for NWN2 and DragonAge.

These will graphically enhance the game, and they actually make things look pretty darn good !

You can peruse these sites (primarily the first one) for Mods. On the one you can look at them via ranking. I've only done the Official (Firemoth, Area effect, etc) and Realsigns other than the ones linked above. I just installed the Graphic updates about a month ago and am running through it with these, and then I'll pick some of the better rated on the first site and try those out - if Oblivion not's out first 😉

Bahaha. That automatic tester shows my Opteron 170 as barely being fast enough to run it.😀

I predict it'll be smooth as silk on my SLI 7800GT, 2.7GHz A64 & 2GB RAM. May not be high end, it's fairly middle of the road as far as rigs go but it's good enough to satisfy me.

You have to be kidding. That kind of rig will probably be in the top quarter of a percent of all people playing Oblivion - even the trailer was only done on a couple of 6800 Ultras.

That'll teach you to buy AMD! 😛

Thanks for the links, wanderer27.

With the recent news on Conroe though, I'm leaning toward holding off upgrading my PC until September/October. I may just go with an Xbox 360 to play Oblivion now 🙂

Yeah, I saw mention of that today, but I also heard there were some shady goings on in those benches . . . . haven't really looked into it myself since the things not even going to be out for six months or so. Kinda like going to the Inquirer for r590/G71 info . . . . .

I've heard people have been saying it's been leaked, but it actually hasn't. (did some research, all of them were fake)

Also, me can't wait. And I'm sure when my 7900GT's come (from evga step up) they won't be able to wait either.

Anyone know whether Oblivion uses Starforce copy protection?

No, they explicitly stated they are not using Starforce

I think they're using SecureROM7, but I'm not 100% on that - saw it mentioned somewhere.

Oh...relief...that's good to know. I have a couple of Starforce games and they chug my DVD player and CPU usage is maxed out when trying to read the disc. If Oblivion had Starforce I wouldn't buy it. Good to know it doesn't cause I'll definitely pick up the collector's edition.
