But does he have a TANK? ;)

no, but really, neither do we.

Loose lips sink ships!

You have just left yourself WIDE OPEN for invasion!

Hey moose, I think we can take them, I'll split the booty with ya!

LOL. "And in other news, Canada has been taken over by the court jester."

Not a bad collection at all. You might want to consider purchasing some antiques/older weapons to broaden it a bit. My gun 'collection' is a bit anemic. I only have a Winchester Model 1300 Black Shadow pump shotgun. It's a smooth and reliable weapon though. Great for bird and deer.

I have a concealed carry permit, from my 14 years as a P.I. I never use it. Hell, I hardly ever carried on the job, and I went into really bad neighborhoods at night, alone, all the damn time. But that's just me.

I just don't understand those civilians who carry in the 'burbs. What are you REALLY afraid of? If it's reality based, why aren't you wearing body armor as well? Most of my co-professionals who used to carry off duty no longer do. The overwhelming consensus is: They didn't like how they felt while armed. It makes you feel a little too pumped up, you know? A little too itchin' to flash your piece needlessly, to be the big man. I have enough of a temper as it is.

I guess when you've experienced the visceral, ungodly terror of genuine, close quarter carnage, as I have, you kind of lose your taste for it.

Native Americans used to greet the dawn of a beautiful day saying, "Today is a good day to die", not glorifying death, just meaning that our lives are best lived without fear.

A lot of fine young Americans died and I didn't, leaving me to sort it all out here in middle age. So I live my life as best I can, easily, in gratitude, and: Without fear.

Sorry for crapping in your thread Pliablemoose. You do have one hell of a collection of first class ordnance, there.

I have carried maybe a total of 40 hours in the last 2 years, it seemed more attractive than it is in reality...

The officers that've stopped me seem to be just a shade more respectful when as I leave both hands on the wheel I tel them that I have a CCW permit, immediately followed by "And I'm not carrying"

Also, being able to blow through the waiting periods for a handgun purchase is nice, since I've already been checked out & they seem to have a fairly active monitoring program here in TX of CCW permit holders.

I have not owned a firearm even though one any given night probably at least half of who I was with did pack...mostly illegally. My brother and his g/f carry concealed only because open carry is retarded, no matter how legal it is no one wants to see a non-'cop' with a gun. They ride motorcycles in downtown areas late nights occasionally and the need for a gun is pretty realistic, you hope you never have to use it, but if someone will not back away you have it. I don't know if they had to pull them yet, but I know of some people there that got to the point of actually firing a warning shot (bad move I know) when bums would not back off (other motorcyclists). In reality most of the time if someone has their gun out early they have no capacity to use it. Hell, I have known people to pack empty guns or guns with blanks (starter pistols actually I think) most don't realize flashing an unloaded weapon or one with blanks only is the worst thing you can do. A gun is supposed to be for defense and when it's empty or filled with blanks only threatening can it do. On top of that say an assailant was not planning to use a firearm, not he sees your's and *needs* to defend himself.

I used to go shooting a lot, I took my wife a few times to get her accustomed to both revolvers and automatics. I think it's an important skill.

Mostly the reason I do not carry is I will tend to fight someone if necessary. If I get into a situation where somehow my enemy gets hold of my gun I am screwed, chances are they will use it in the heat of battle so to say....on top of that should I be stopped in a fight as well as packing chances are for me to be arrested are greatly increased, cops don't like civilians packing most of the time.

The funniest thing I find is people will surround them with all this firepower but then fail to stay in shape, learn how to defend themselves with and without the gun, and occasionally never even fire their weapons.

Nice collection. My brother also have a good collection. I am not into guns but I do like his AR 15, just like yours, pre ban.

Can you post a list of what kind of guns from the pic? Thanks.

yes I am aware and I care how?

You pulled all your little pictures down asshat, from everywhere, talk about running and hiding. Your massive gun collection shows the fear you have with life though.

I can tell you you have accounts at gardenweb, epinions, fox302, pics@bbzzdd, at apartment808, howardforums, etc....you are not in any kind of battle with me, trust me on that....you may think you are but you also think it was your ex that was crazy.

I find it funny in almost every thread you have something 'accidentally' happened...as well as everyone else around you is the psycho.

Keep in mind who dug up the month old thread and keep in mind who stores pictures of the other locally so they can always 'accidentally not gotten deleted'. Accidents just follow you around eh?

You took down all your personal pages and covered all your tracks so you can cowardly post. Get a backbone man seriously.

Keep in mind also who went crying to the mods several times now about crap you start. You love to make threats with the old ;) behind them saying you were joking/serious as your rubber spine sees fit.

I realize you are the angry one here, heck searching your past threads show your outbursts...I merely reply to your's...

Like I said before and keep to it, if you don't call me out I will not add insults to anything you post... do your little posting of my pic, and other non-direct things you do (trust me I have seen your little games) and you won't hear from me like you haven't in the past what month?

Should I have been you I think I'd be crying to any mod possible for the removal of that pic? Do you really think it bothers me.....

You don't have the necessary skillset to even make for a funny read. You are just a broken man already planning for retirement hobbies since you know your two kids will probably go as far away as possible once they can like their mother did. Then you can talk about how crazy they are here.

What is Narcissism?

A pattern of traits and behaviors which signify infatuation and obsession with one's self to the exclusion of all others and the egotistic and ruthless pursuit of one's gratification, dominance and ambition.

Most narcissists (75%) are men.

Being armed in public is an odd feeling, but I'm sure with time it will pass. For me the biggest thing was realizing how blissfully unaware the general population is. They would likely be upset if they knew I was carrying, yet there are 10,000+ people in my county that are licensed to carry concealed... That's a fair number of people that could be carrying guns, yet the vast majority of the population doesn't even think about it. Probably better that way, considering that most people have an emotional reaction to them.

As far as why I do it... I guess I take too much responsibility for the well being of those around me (and obviously myself). IMO if I'm ever in a situation where I would have benefited by being armed, I'm partially responsible for whatever happens. If I could have been armed, & wasn't, I take some of the blame.

Unfortunately I've not found nearly as much opportunity to carry as I would like, I have two full time jobs that both have explicitly stated no weapons policies. Until I'm 100% sure I can legally carry at work I won't be, I'm willing to risk losing my job but I'm not willing to risk my permit.

I guess when you've experienced the visceral, ungodly terror of genuine, close quarter carnage, as I have, you kind of lose your taste for it.

Believe me, I have no desire to get in a gunfight. Or a fight of any kind for that matter. If it comes down to it, though, & my safety & those around me depends on it, I am going to win that fight.

In some states you can legally carry concealed without a permit if it's in conjunction with certain other activities. Hunting is usually an example of that, hiking may be depending on the locale.

It's completely dependant on where you are, there are no federal laws specifically covering CCW.

There are, however, federal laws restricting firearm posession in public forests.
