forget that he has > 70 RBI's, that's primarily due to the fact that there is no one in front of him to drive in.

100 runs in 286 AB is amazing.

I wonder if he'll break his 198 BB record he set in 2002. he's at 176 with 36 games to go.

the real stat here is the number of walks and his On Base Percentage, the number of runs is a result of being on base...even if he only had 50 runs, his OBP would still be incredible.

I think he should be the MVP as well, but I'm guessing Rolen and Beltre will get their share of votes as well.

I think votes will get split between Rolen and Pujols, Bonds should come out on top.

beltre will get a few, rolen has edmonds and Pujols stealing votes from him.

1.4 ops, ya, that is pretty amazing.

I think even if they fall short of play offs they will make it. No one is more valuable to their team then Bonds.

Generally, the baseball MVP is based on stats. If there's more than one player with similar stats, then the one on the better team tends to get the MVP. However, there's also another thing that should factor into it: does the guy make the players around him better? Does he inspire them to play harder and better? In Bond's case, that's a solid "No".

Still, as much as I dislike Roidman Bonds, his numbers are out of this world and he has to get the NL MVP.
