Lucas actually rewrote (had it rewritten) recently. He was not comfortable with the original screen play after his other bombs. I forget the name of the guy, but he asked a fairly popular poet/writer to lend him a hand - ie: rewrite the story so it didn't suck. It was done as a friendly favor.
