I was underwhelmed with the movies I'd seen from E3, so I dunno how big a loss this will be. Hmmm...Next Gen console? Can anyone say "X-Box"?

I may be over-reacting but*:

1. LucasArts sucks.
2. M$ sucks for even considering "X-box".
3. The ma$$ market sucks.
4. Marketing weenies suck.
5. Greedy suits suck.
6. Whoever tainted Obi-Wan's original design vision sucks (see #4 and #5).

Wow, I'm disappointed and surprised. I played a demo of Jedi Knight for a couple months until I finally went out and bought it. I felt it had some flaws (the graphics and network code were inferior to Quake2 IMO), but it was a great game in its time.

Lucasarts kept delaying the successor, Obi-Wan. I think it was supposed to be out last year, then this Christmas, then next year, and now it's cancelled. I was a little bit concerned given that some of the textures in screenshots looked average, plus, a talented portion of the original Jedi Knight design team had left Lucasarts, but I was still looking forward to it.

Now, for whatever reason (maybe Microsoft threw a wad of money at them to make it an X-Box exclusive?) it is no more, at least the PC version.

this is crazy, they say that the PC is too limited? give me a damn break...Consoles are fun, no doubt, but nothing can compare to the PC

The 3rd person view wasn't the problem, the design changes were. AT first everyone thought it would be the spiritual successor to DF and JK. They changed later, removing some complexity, adding other complexity while turning it into a platform game.

That PR notice was bogus. All you can get from it is "we messed up. will try again for x-box. thank you good nite.".

Jedi knight was the first fps game I ever played. It ran fine on my compaq p166 mmx in software mode. Too bad Obi-wan got f*cked up like this. Hope they turn around and make games like they used to(Jedi knight, tie fighter)
