http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...tement-following-zimmerman-verdict/?hpt=hp_t2

it starts off good enuf:
"We are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken. "

but then:
"We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. "

WTF?! Zimmerman had a LEGAL gun. it was self defense. the jury voted so.
So WTF?!

and lastly this:
"That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin."

Holy WHAT?!
That's like Bush thanking the Rodney King cops for doing their jobs.

Obama's on the side of the violent attacker that assualted Zimmerman?!
So he thinks Zimmerman's a cracker too?

looks like zimmerman's going to get jacked up w/federal civil rights violation charges. :(

We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of brutal fist-fights that claim too many lives across this country.

Are fist fights claiming a lot of lives?

I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. The point is the President should not make such a blatantly one-sided statement like he did.

Is he implying that gun "violence" is so prevalent that it excuses someone from fist "violence"?

Obama is too high on his white horse to even consider the possibility of his moral authority being in question.

I think his statements were ridiculous.

We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of brutal fist-fights that claim too many lives across this country.
If all of this had happened in Oregon and Martin had not been shot both would have done time for measure 11. Be careful what you wish for.

Another black kid was killed by a gun, the fact that Zimmerman was legally allowed to have a gun doesn't change the fact that lots of black kids are killed by guns.

When you stop only thinking about yourself it becomes easier to put yourself in other peoples shoes. Surely you can understand where the black, previously a community organizer, father, and a resident if Chicago is coming from and what his point was.

And if they were in Oregon at the time.

Not sure if Florida has an equivalent law.

Either way I'm not sure what you think I'm wishing for. I'm just making the comment that there were two forms of harmful violence used in this altercation, either you condemn both or you condemn neither.

The reason so many black youths are killed in gun violence is because they put themselves in position to be killed by gun violence.

To me it doesn't matter the color of his skin.

If Zimmerman were following a white kid, the white kid turned on him and began beating the shit out of him, Zimmerman shots in response, I would still side with Zimmerman on self defense.

The difference is, if it were a white kid, I guarantee Al Sharpton and President Obama would have made zero public comments on the incident, and quite possibly would have had different opinions themselves.

I fully understand why they commented the way they did. But I also have the right to my own opinion and the right to believe they were in the wrong.

yeah.. wiki

provide the direct link to zimmerman's conviction. it should be public record

Extremists by there are branding TM as a thugh because they
know that his murderer had very light ground to prove his case ,
so the strategy is to diabolize the victim but so far TM wasnt
proved through his history as being violent to the point that
he would act this way :

In 2005, at the age of 21, Zimmerman was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest, after shoving an officer while a friend of Zimmerman's was being questioned about underage drinking.
So much for the extremist insistence to talk of background ,
here a real thug , you know , thoses people who dont
recognize policemen as being legitimate...

The reason so many black youths are killed in gun violence is because they put themselves in position to be killed by gun violence.

They have to deal with de-assimilated American men. It's difficult to remove yourself in this type of position when a de-assimilated racist American man can creepily follow you around due to racist reasons.

This is why we need to ensure that de-assimilated American men can never touch a gun in their lives. Zimmerman should never have been allowed to have a gun. He is obviously quite de-assimilated.

He is a psycho. A psycho thug racist wannabe cop who has de-assimilated from American society. He should never have been allowed to own a gun. He is too unstable and racist to own one.

Did the community that employed him know of his past
violent action against a state law enforcer.?..

Probably not , so we can assume that he implicitely
lied by keeping his past actions hidden to get the job ,
hence , a liar will lie even more when trialed.
